Taiz, NewsYemen:

The Qatari-funded Al-Hashd Brotherhood militia moved from protecting smuggling operations between the legitimate and coup areas to harassing citizens opposed to smuggling and those affected by it in Taiz, central Yemen.

On Friday night, the Brotherhood's Hashd militia began its indiscriminate war against Al-Ashruh residents in Jabal Habashi district, west of Taiz governorate, against the backdrop of their refusal to continue smuggling oil derivatives, fertilizers and contraband.

Local sources said that Said Abdulqaher, the official of the Islah party in the Jabal Habashi district, and Fahd al-Salihi, commander of the seventh battalion of the 17th Infantry Brigade, are leading the ongoing battle against the population under the pretext of arresting wanted security personnel.

According to the sources, the latest crime of the PMF militia was shooting at citizens, on Saturday, and resulted in serious injury to Sind al-Sharhi, and other injuries among citizens.

The Hashd militia also arrested the disabled and war wounded Abdul Karim Nasir, hours after they stormed a number of homes, and arrested Abdullah Tarbush and Sultan al-Sharhi.

The escalation of the Brotherhood's Hashd militia comes a day after the security committee in the governorate approved the ban on smuggling oil derivatives, fertilizers and other contraband to the areas under the control of the Houthi militia.
