Al-Hodeidah, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, expanded the range of its military attacks in the coastal province of Hodeidah, in the west of the country, and increased the frequency of targeting populated areas.

The Houthi escalation, which is the largest on the western coast fronts, since the signing of the Sweden agreement, came after the militia’s leadership pushed large military reinforcements, including heavy war equipment and hundreds of militants, to Hodeidah where NewsYemen’s sources estimated that nearly 2,000 fighters had been mobilized in recent weeks.

Local sources in Hodeidah told "NewsYemen" that since the beginning of last week, the city has witnessed an active military build-up by the Houthi militia, in parallel with bringing in more reinforcements and militants.

On Sunday morning, the joint forces put out Houthi fire sources targeting Kilo 16, the city of Saleh and the July 7 neighborhood, east of Hodeidah.

The Houthi militia has also targeted separate areas in Kilo 16 with heavy machine guns and sniper weapons.

Concurrently, the militia targeted residential neighborhoods in the city of Saleh, east of Hodeidah, using medium weapons of various calibers.

According to field sources, the joint forces dealt tight strikes to the Houthi militia with appropriate weapons, and put out their sources of fire and inflicted heavy losses in equipment and lives.

Earlier on Sunday, the Houthi militia renewed its bombardment of the Thabet Brothers Industrial and Commercial Complex in the city of Hodeidah, using artillery shells.

A medical source said that one of the factory workers was seriously injured, while the bombing caused heavy material losses in the industrial and commercial complex.

On Sunday, the joint forces broke a major attack launched by the Houthi militia, in the Hays district, south of Hodeidah Governorate.

Military field sources said that armed groups of the Houthi militia launched a large-scale attack towards the areas of the joint forces in Hays, south of Hodeidah.

On Saturday, Al-Duraihimi district witnessed the strongest confrontations on the west coast between the joint forces and the Iranian arm since the signing of the Sweden agreement, in a battle that lasted nine hours, and ended with deaths and injuries without a change in the lines of contact and the front lines.

"NewsYemen" sources said that the battle began just before dawn with a Houthi attack in which tanks, armored vehicles BMB and artillery participated for the first time since December 2018, during which the joint forces responded to the widespread attack and inflicted heavy losses on equipment and lives, after trying to advance towards the joint forces' sites east of Al-Durahimi.

The use of heavy weapons by the Houthi militia in the battle of Al-Durahimi was not just regular breaches, but rather the unilateral violation of the Sweden agreement, the Houthi, taking advantage of the international laxity that did not stop any of its violations during the year and a half of the signing of the agreement.
