On Tuesday, the State Security Court, which is under the control of the Houthis, holds its first session to try the journalist and engineer of the news correspondence network of the official Saba news agency, Nabil Al-Sedawi, six years after his arrest.

Lawyer Abdulmajeed Sabra said that Al-Sedawi, who had been forcibly hidden, would be tried along with 13 other people on charges of intelligence.

Al-Sedawi disappeared from his family and workplace on September 21, 2015, the day after the group celebrated the first anniversary of its control over the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, after his arrest for investigation by the Political Security Agency, at the time, to remain hidden until he was referred to the prosecution on July 2, 2019, in violation of the constitution, which requires that any detainee be referred to the security authorities within 24 hours, according to Sabra.

According to Sabra, holding Al-Sedawi's trial without considering all these constitutional and legal violations, and its reliance on the inference records during the period of enforced disappearance and torture, is inconsistent with the lowest rules and principles of a fair trial, and renders its verdicts null and has no legal effect.
