Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The sources reported that Dr. Adnan Al Sharjabi, a faculty member at Sana'a University and a professor of psychology at the College of Arts and Humanities, died on Sunday morning of a heart attack.

The sources confirmed that his death came a few days after his arrest by the Houthi militia, which has controlled the capital Sanaa since late 2014.

The security authorities of the Al-Houthi militia kidnapped Academician Al-Sharjabi last August while he was on his way to the college to test his students for the second semester of this academic year, which caused student exams to be postponed.

The solidarity statements had warned the militia of any complications for Dr. Al-Sharjabi in the event of his continued detention, as he suffers from chronic diseases and many complications, the most important of which are heart and lung problems, and he is constantly using medicine, but the militia authorities did not respond to these calls.

His colleague in the same college, Dr. Ahmed Al-Saadi, from the Department of Philosophy and a loyalist to the Houthi group, commented today on the departure of Al-Sharjabi, saying: “When they arrested Dr. Adnan Al-Sharjabi, they launched a campaign to defame his morals and to intimidate others so that they would abandon him.

Al-Saadi concluded his post: "Today, Adnan went next to his Lord to complain to him and inform him that they treated him wrong him in his name."

It is worth noting that the College of Arts and Humanities at Sana'a University is one of the most prestigious faculties headed by senior academics until 2016;  Today it is headed by a young man belonging to the Houthi militia who does not possess any recognized qualification.
