The governor of the capital discusses the activities of the Red Cross and Geneva Call in Aden

On Wednesday, the governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, discussed a number of issues related to the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Geneva Call in the interim Yemeni capital.

Lamlas discussed with Mr. Abdulrahman Issa, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation - Aden office, the ICRC's interventions and projects in the capital, most notably its intervention in the face of the Corona pandemic and its contribution with local partners and corresponding international organizations in limiting the spread of the epidemic and providing tools and supplies to prevent it, as well as Its role in building the capabilities of local cadres in preparation for facing any new outbreak of the emerging coronavirus, "Covid 19".

Mr. Issa reviewed the most prominent projects that the committee is working on in the capital, Aden, which is represented in the physical rehabilitation project, which includes a number of activities, the most prominent of which is the establishment of a wheelchair clinic in the Mansoura district, which specializes in designing wheelchairs according to the needs of the case.

He directed the directors of the concerned offices to cooperate with the committee’s delegation and to facilitate any difficulties it faces.

In addition, Lamlas met Mrs. Dina Al-Mamoun, head of the Geneva Call Organization office in the capital, Aden, stressing the need to link all the activities of international organizations operating in Aden with the Office of International Planning and Cooperation, as it is the first concerned authority in coordination with all organizations and access to their programs and interventions.

Geneva Call's activities target security units and their various formations by training their affiliates in knowledge of international humanitarian law and how to deal with it.
