Military sources told NewsYemen that the Brotherhood militia blew up the military situation in Abyan governorate, and attacked the southern forces' positions with tanks, in anticipation of the government's announcement.
The sources reported that the southern forces' positions in the al-Turiya front were bombing my brothers with all medium and heavy weapons, including tanks, Katyusha and mortars, which was accompanied by a major attack by the Brotherhood militia that lasted for hours.
According to the sources, ambulances were seen rushing to transport dozens of wounded and dead members of the Muslim Brotherhood, heading to Shuqra Rural Hospital.
The attack constitutes a clear challenge to the ceasefire supported by the Arab coalition, which works to reduce the intensity of military operations, announce the formation of the government, then separate the forces and implement the military and security file, in accordance with the Riyadh Agreement.
The Brotherhood’s suicide attack came hours after Abdulaziz Al-Muflhi, Hadi’s advisor, confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the formation of the government had been completed and the announcement was imminent.
A member of the General Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, Waddah bin Attia, said that the Brotherhood attack in the Shakra front was an attempt to obstruct the announcement of the government.
The Brotherhood seeks to obstruct the government and not implement the Riyadh agreement, after a continuous attack by its media for weeks on the agreement to thwart it and block its announcement.
