Abyan .. Dozens of mines and explosive remnants of war detonated in the Khobar area

The National Demining Program carried out the detonation of dozens of mines and explosives in the Al-Khobar area in the governorate of Abyan, which were extracted by the demining team from the areas planted by the Houthi coup militia and terrorist organizations in the 2015 war.

Mines pose a threat to the life, property and animals of the Bedouin population.

The supervisor of the National Mine Action Program in Abyan Governorate, Colonel Al-Khader Al-Sufi, indicated that detonating mines and explosive remnants of the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations was an initiative that came by the program due to the dangers posed by the planted mines to human and animal lives, praising the efforts of the demining team and the work they carried out for their clearing of this dangerous waste and ridding the area of its dangers.

He added, a number of mines, explosives and missiles were detonated, which were collected within two weeks, and these mines, explosives and missiles of all kinds pose risks to humans and animals.

He pointed out that the area is still infested with mines, and what has been removed is a small part of it, which pose a threat to the lives of the residents of the area.

The bombing operation was attended by a number of security leaders and the commander of the security belt in Al-Khobar area, Colonel Ahmed Muglad, a member of the local leadership in Abyan governorate, and the transport chief of Al-Khobar district, Ahmed Al-Marqashi.
