Aden, NewsYemen:

Interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi confirmed that Iran seeks to dominate navigation by controlling the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb. "And this is what we warned against early on," he added.

This came during a session of talks with the envoy of the United States of America, Elliot Brahms, and the US ambassador to Yemen, Christopher Hanzel.

Hadi praised the level of strategic relations that link Yemen with the United States of America to face the set of common challenges in the files of terrorism and Iranian interference, and not to transfer the Iranian experience to Yemen, in a way that enhances the security of international navigation in Bab al-Mandab.

In turn, the US envoy and ambassador affirmed that this meeting “comes within the framework of cooperation and mutual consultation on strategic issues of common interest and confronting Iranian interference by smuggling weapons to the Houthis and making Yemen a starting point for their attacks in the region and threatening neighboring countries,” according to the official Yemeni News Agency.

The United States of America appreciated the legitimate efforts of the Yemeni government towards peace and facing Iranian challenges "through positive acceleration of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement."
