Aden, NewsYemen:

On Saturday, the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, commemorated the first anniversary of the death of Qassem Soleimani, Iran's most prominent military leader, who was killed in a US strike in Iraq last January.

The Houthi militia deliberately held the event inside the President Ali Abdullah Saleh Mosque (Al-Saleh Mosque) in central Sanaa, days after an Iranian journalist published information confirming that Soleimani was the one who directed the liquidation of Yemeni President Saleh in December 2017.

Qassem Soleimani, who was leading the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard, is the largest Iranian hand stained with the blood of Arabs and Yemenis - according to the expression of the Yemeni writer and politician Nabil Al-Sufi - and Soleimani was killed in an American raid early last year near Baghdad Airport.

The Houthi militia commemorated the first anniversary of Soleimani's death in the presence of its prime minister, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor and the representative of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Sanaa, Hassan Irloo.

"Irloo", who is the Iranian military ruler in Sanaa, said during the event, "The Houthis have foiled colonialism and Zionism plans," and claimed that "Soleimani's nightmare will pursue the Americans indefinitely," according to the Houthi Al Masirah TV channel.

Earlier, Iranian writer Dr. Arash Azizi, who wrote the book "The Shadow Leader: Soleimani, the United States and Iran's Global Ambitions," said that Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani was the one who directed the killing of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in December 2017.

"Azizi" said in an interview with the Carnegie Endowment for Peace, that Soleimani had directly ordered the killing of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

He added, "Two of the Quds Force told me that they are concerned with setting Iran's policy towards Yemen separately. In addition, a source in the Houthi leadership said that this was a request from Soleimani, and the Houthis agreed to it.

It also fully corresponds to what I know about Soleimani and his decision-making style."
