Al-Hodeidah, NewsYemen:

The United Nations Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement said it is seeking access to the sites of recent military activity in Hodeidah to confirm the situation and to enable better implementation of the agreement for the benefit of the local population.

This came during a meeting that included the head of the (UNMHA) mission and the head of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC), Lieutenant General Abhijit Goha, and the representative of the Houthi militia in the committee, Ali Hammoud Al-Mushki.

“The protection of civilians is of the utmost importance, and all steps taken to implement the Hudaydah Agreement should take this as a guiding concept,” said Lieutenant General Goha.

He stressed the need to grant access to sites where civilian losses or damage to civilian infrastructure occurred, and he also addressed the issue of the presence of the United Nations Mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement on the other side of Hodeidah where the Yemeni government is located.

It seems that the Houthi side rejected the committee’s request, as the latter mentioned that the representative of the militia proposed the establishment of a demilitarized zone to support this request.
