Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Under the name of the "Scientific Methodology Competition", the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - began to implement a blackmail campaign to attract high school and middle school students in Sana'a and its neighboring provinces, and to push them to the fronts to fuel their battles to remain in a state of usurpation of power since September 2014.

In contrast to the school calendar for the current academic year, the Houthi militia mobilizes school students for what it claims to hold "cultural, sports, awareness and competition activities" as the alleged activities are "a form of steadfastness in the field of science and knowledge."

While the Houthi militia continues to plunder the salaries of state employees, including teachers and workers in the education sector, the Houthi militia claims that "holding systematic competitions motivates students to persevere and achieve educational achievement, improve the quality of education, and raise the efficiency of performance and evaluation."

Parents of students in Sana'a say that the alleged competitions include extortionate lectures for their children and promises to raise their educational attainment levels in exchange for what the militia calls "supplying the fronts with money and men."

These violations against children and school students come in light of the intensification of confrontations between the Houthi militia on the one hand, and the army forces and tribesmen on the other hand, in the Ma'rib Governorate (eastern Yemen), and the Houthi militia suffered great losses among its fighters.
