On Tuesday, a civilian was killed in a mine explosion left by the Houthi militia in Al-Khokha district, south of Hodeidah.

A local source stated that Ahmed Thabet Masas Al-Bishri was killed when he was returning to his home in the Irfan area, east of Al-Khokha, on his motorcycle.

He added that the Houthi mine exploded after the motorbike he was riding on on the way home crossed it.

The source explained that Al-Bashri crossed a secondary road while returning from his monthly leave in Al-Khokha to inspect the homes of his displaced neighbors. A mine exploded with it, which led to his death on the spot.

Iran's arm displaced the people of the rural villages of Irfan, east of Al-Khokha, from their homes, agricultural lands, pastures and villages, and prevented them from returning three years ago after planting hundreds of deadly mines.

Ahmed Masas Al-Bishri is the sixth victim from the village of Irfan to die due to Houthi mines.

The Saudi project to clear mines announced about three months ago that it was close to declaring Al-Khokha Directorate free of mines from the Houthi militia.
