Saudi Arabia: We support a comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Wednesday; The international community should take a firm stand against the attacks of the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen - in reference to the escalating Houthi attacks by drones and ballistic missiles against civilians and oil installations in the Kingdom.

Prince bin Farhan said, during a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Riyadh, Wednesday, that "the failed Houthi targeting attempts (Ras Tanura port) are targeting the nerve center of the global economy," noting the widespread international condemnation of the Houthi attack on Ras Tanura port.

He added, "The international community has a great responsibility to pressure the Houthis."

During the press conference broadcast by Al-Arabiya channel, the Saudi foreign minister affirmed his country's position in support of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Yemen.

He added, "The priority in Yemen is to reach a comprehensive ceasefire," noting that "the coalition stopped firing unilaterally in Yemen about a year ago."
