Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The Houthi militia has once again extorted school students and residents of Sanaa and the neighboring governorates by collecting compulsory royalties, under the pretext of supporting the fronts and alleged victories.

The Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - distributed paper parcels to residents of the Shuob District and Al-Hattaresh in Sana'a city to collect money from citizens through Al-Harat in exchange for obtaining domestic gas cylinders.

A Houthi supervisor toured classrooms for girls in the region with the aim of collecting school expenses for female students (the value of breakfast) as donations to support the war effort, in light of the Houthi militia’s continued looting of employees ’salaries since September 2016.

Aqal Al Harat, loyal to the Houthi militia, stressed the need to return the parcels (paper envelopes) with the name of the citizen and the amount of the donated amount (royalties) printed on the back within a maximum period of two days from the date of receiving the envelope.

In interviews with (NewsYemen), residents of Sana'a complained that they had been threatened by the lagoon of the neighborhoods that they would deprive them of household gas cylinders in the event that they failed to participate in the payment of royalties and return paper parcels with the amount of royalties.
