Aden, NewsYemen:

Al-Ayyam newspaper reported, citing sources describing it as well-informed, that a conflict raged between Yemeni centers of influence located in the Saudi capital (Riyadh) and the local authorities in Shabwa over the management of the port of "Qena" and the acquisition of its revenues.

The port of "Qena" was officially opened at the beginning of this year. It is not subject to the management or supervision of the Ministry of Transport. The governorate authorities loyal to the Brotherhood also export their oil production through the historic port on the Arabian Sea.

Al-Ayyam said that the Vice President of the Republic, Lieutenant General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, stands at the head of the current raging conflict between the governor, Muhammad Saleh bin Adio, and the oil dealer Ahmed Al-Eisi, who was appointed to the position of deputy director of the presidential office, stressing that Al-Ahmar has been seeking for days to contain this conflict.

The newspaper said, "The circumstances of the conflict began about a ship loaded with a shipment of diesel imported by the Shabwa authorities to supply the power station during the coming month of Ramadan, after the voices of citizens in the governorate became loudly recently due to the increase in power cuts in light of their talk about the existence of a port in the governorate."

According to the newspaper, the ship did not reach the port of Qena as planned, explaining that it was forced, while miles away, to change its destination due to Al-Eisi preventing its berthing and unloading its cargo in the port's tanks.

It stated that Al-Eisi ordered the ship’s crew to change its course to the port of Mukalla and unload its cargo at the “Khalaf” facility of the Hadramout oil company.

Earlier, the Brotherhood-affiliated Governor of Shabwah ordered the suspension of work at the "Qena" marina, after disagreements with the businessman also loyal to the group, Ahmed Al-Eisi.

Al-Ayyam said that Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar entered the line of conflict, and yesterday, Thursday, contacted the governor of Shabwa in an attempt to calm down and find a solution to this conflict.
