Aden, NewsYemen:

On Thursday, the Southern Transitional Council condemned the two terrorist operations, one of which targeted the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Abdel Nasser Al-Wali in Aden with two explosive devices that he escaped, and the second targeted a security belt checkpoint in Abyan governorate, leaving 12 dead, including civilians, and a number of wounded.

In a statement by the official spokesperson, Ali Al Kathiri, the council called on the southern security forces to "raise the level of high readiness and vigilance to confront terrorist groups in Aden, Abyan and all southern governorates."

Al-Kathiri said, "While the Southern Transitional Council is facing a new and dangerous plan aimed at canceling its role, it affirms that this plan will fail and will remain a lookout for those terrorist groups and their supporters, and will not hesitate to protect our southern people from their oppression and criminality."

He stressed that "these security imbalances and systematic targeting operations were not witnessed to the same extent and capabilities during the Shabwani elite's control of Shabwa governorate."

He pointed out that the recent period has witnessed a remarkable resurgence of terrorist groups' activity, which requires the elite to return and move forward to resume its duties with all southern forces in the face of terrorism and cutting it off from the entire south.

He called on "our brothers, friends and the regional and international coalition to combat terrorism to provide the necessary support to continue our common war against terrorism and its groups, and to purge Aden and the south in general of its criminal cells."
