More than 3 thousand civilians have been killed and wounded by mines from Iran's arm since the outbreak of the war

 The Executive Mine Action Center in Taiz Governorate revealed that more than three thousand civilians were killed and injured by mines planted by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, during the period from 2015 until early March 2021.

According to Colonel Aref Al-Qahtani, Director of the Executive Center for Mine Action in Taiz Governorate, the number of civilian deaths documented reached 942, of whom 223 were children, 217 were women, and 502 were men.

The center also documented the injury of 2,321 people, of whom 406 were children, 365 were women and 1,550 were men.

According to Al-Qahtani, the Houthi militia planted large areas in Taiz with multiple types of mines indiscriminately.

Al-Qahtani indicated in tweets to Twitter that the engineering teams are working intensively to clear mines, improvised explosive devices and remnants of war in the liberated areas in the western countryside of Taiz governorate.
