Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Sheikh Abu Naji Al-Marabi survived a failed assassination attempt, on Saturday in Sana'a, in an operation that the Houthi militia was likely to stand behind.

The scanty information obtained by "NewsYemen" did not indicate the details of the assassination, which comes a week after the assassination of Sheikh Muhammad Abu Shawarib inside his home and the burning of his body.

Al-Marabi is accused of carrying out widespread looting of citizens' lands in the Saraf area north of Sanaa, in addition to being accused of committing a number of murders, most notably the killing of Sheikh Ahmed Qassem Al-Sakani in Sana'a.

The Houthi militia assassinated nearly 24 tribal sheikhs in the northern governorates under its control since they seized power.
