On Monday, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, announced an initiative to end the war in Yemen, which includes a comprehensive ceasefire, the opening of Sanaa airport, and the deposit of Hodeidah revenues in a joint account at the central bank branch in the governorate.

The Saudi initiative provides for a comprehensive ceasefire under the supervision of the United Nations, the deposit of taxes and customs revenues for oil derivative ships from the port of Hodeidah in the joint account at the Central Bank of Yemen in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, as well as the opening of Sanaa Airport for a number of regional and international direct flights, and the start of consultations between the Yemeni parties.  To reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis under the auspices of the United Nations and according to the three references.

The Saudi Foreign Minister said that the initiative aims to reach an understanding solution between all Yemeni parties, noting that it comes in cooperation with the United Nations and American envoys to Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman.

The Saudi Foreign Minister called on the legitimate Yemeni government and the Houthi militia to accept the initiative to end the crisis.

Ibn Farhan affirmed his country's full right to defend its land and people against the attacks of the Houthi militia.
