On Monday, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, announced an initiative to end the war in Yemen, which includes a comprehensive ceasefire, the opening of Sanaa airport, and the deposit of Hodeidah revenues in a joint account at the central bank branch in the governorate.
The Saudi initiative provides for a comprehensive ceasefire under the supervision of the United Nations, the deposit of taxes and customs revenues for oil derivative ships from the port of Hodeidah in the joint account at the Central Bank of Yemen in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, as well as the opening of Sanaa Airport for a number of regional and international direct flights, and the start of consultations between the Yemeni parties. The Saudi Foreign Minister said that the initiative aims to reach an understanding solution between all Yemeni parties, noting that it comes in cooperation with the United Nations and American envoys to Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman.
