Foreign Ministry: The Houthi response to the Saudi initiative is a dependence on Iran's agenda

The Foreign Minister, Ahmed bin Mubarak, considered that the recent escalation of the Houthi militia’s attacks, confirming its dependence on Iran's destabilizing agenda for the security and stability of the region.

The minister said, during his meeting, today, Sunday, in Riyadh, with the United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, that the government is keen to achieve sustainable peace based on basic references, according to the agency "Saba".


 He added that the Houthi response to the Saudi initiative by escalating attacks confirms the extent of the group's dependence on Iran's destabilizing agenda for the security and stability of the region.

Griffiths affirmed continuing diplomatic efforts to end the war and alleviate the effects of the humanitarian crisis afflicting the Yemenis, according to the same source.

According to "Saba", the two sides discussed the overall developments on the Yemeni arena, the Saudi initiative and international efforts aimed at stopping the war and achieving peace based on the references of the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the national dialogue and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
