Aden, NewsYemen:

An investigation by a team of United Nations experts concluded that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, carried out the attack on Aden airport last December, which killed and wounded more than 130 people.

Two diplomats familiar with the matter said that UN experts submitted their report to the Yemen Sanctions Committee during closed-door consultations on Friday, but Russia prevented it from being published on a wider scale.

The two diplomats, who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, did not explain why Russia was preventing the results from being published, according to Reuters.

The diplomats added, "The UN Panel of Experts concluded that the Houthis fired missiles at Aden Airport from two sites that were under their control at the time, namely Taiz Airport and a police station in Dhamar."

He stated, "The process of launching rockets from the two Houthi-controlled sites was coordinated."

The diplomats pointed out that "experts found that the missiles were the same type of missiles that the Houthis had used in the past."

They emphasized that "all evidence indicates that no other Yemeni party has the capacity or technology to launch such an attack."

Aden airport was attacked on December 30, the moment a plane carrying the new government arrived at the airport, and while everyone on board survived, 22 people were killed and about 110 others were wounded, including government officials, media, employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross, airport workers and passengers who were waiting for their trip to Cairo.

The airport was bombed with three missiles, one of which exploded in the main terminal of the airport, another at the airport runway, and a third in the place that had been designated to hold the Prime Minister's press conference.
