A medical source in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, revealed the number of civilian casualties as a result of the Houthi bombing during the month of March.

The source reported that 18 civilians were killed and wounded. Among them are women and children, due to the fire of the terrorist Houthi militia in the West Coast. The majority of them were in the district of Hais, in March of the current year 2021.

The source said that in March, hospitals and health centers in the liberated areas of the West Coast received 18 civilians, including 5 children and 4 women. They were killed or injured by various means of killing the Houthis.

The source indicated that 5 civilians were among the victims; among them was a girl and a woman who were killed; They include: 3 civilians were killed by shrapnel of mortar shells, and 2 others by Houthi mines exploding.


As for the wounded, the source stated; That their number reached 13 civilians; Among them are 4 children and 3 women, 5 civilians were wounded by shrapnel of mortar shells, and 4 others were shot by snipers, and the rest of the injuries were distributed between mines and a weapon (MF 23), two civilians.

 He pointed out that the Hais district topped the list of most victims, with 14 civilians, while the number of victims was distributed among the four districts of Dhu al-Bab, al-Khokha and al-Tuhaita. He pointed out that hospitals and health centers provided first aid and treatment to the victims.  

According to the capabilities, most of them were transferred to the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Mocha and the hospitals in the capital, Aden, but some of them died Because of the severity of their injury. In January and February of the same year, 14 civilians were killed and 35 others were wounded. Among them are women and children who fired weapons from the Houthi militia in the West Coast, according to the source.


Condemnation of the Houthi crimes


 In the context of the Houthi crimes, the people of the (Hais) Directorate condemned the brutal crimes committed by the Iranian-backed militias against them, which amount to war crimes. There have been 500 civilian casualties from the people of Hays, since the signing of the Stockholm Agreement.

Hundreds of (Hayes) residents held a protest on March 21; In it, they denounced in the strongest manner the international silence, and the negative stances of the United Nations regarding the events of the Houthi militia’s crimes and flagrant violations.

The protesters raised (banners) denouncing the terror of the Houthi group. From killing innocent civilians, women and children, demolishing homes over the heads of their inhabitants with all kinds of weapons, displacing people and eliminating aspects of life.
