UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, "No effort should be spared to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, end the devastating conflict, and pave the way to achieving a just and sustainable peace."

In a statement, Guterres added that his special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths "is working to secure a ceasefire at the national level, reopen Sanaa airport, and ensure the regular flow of fuel and other goods to Yemen through the port of Hodeidah."

He continued, "Griffiths is also working on moving to an inclusive political process to reach a comprehensive settlement to be negotiated in order to end the conflict."

The Secretary-General of the United Nations also expressed his aspiration to continue working with the Sultanate of Oman and other partners to reach a comprehensive settlement in Yemen.
