Shabwa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The markets of Shabwa governorate are witnessing a state of stagnation due to the exorbitant high prices in the governorate controlled by the Brotherhood.

Despite the approaching month of Ramadan, and the citizen's needs for foodstuffs increased, shoppers were clearly weak in the markets.

The sellers spoke in separate statements to "News Yemen", that the turnout these days is weak, similar to last year, explaining that the most important reason is the insane rise in prices.

They added that the demand for foodstuffs, furnishings and luxuries decreased among citizens, noting that the commercial movement last year was noticeably refreshed.

Citizen Ali Bakran said that the citizen of Shabwa became his concern and focus on buying the simple needs of the month of Ramadan, whose prices have increased many times over the past years, adding that he is unable to buy because of the difficult economic situation experienced by the people of Shabwa.

Citizen Saleh Omar told "NewsYemen", "I work in the military, and my salary is 60,000 Yemenis, and I have not received it for three months, and the month of Ramadan is just around the corner. What should I do ?!"

The seller, Hammoud Al-Nasiri, attributed the weak turnout to the weak purchasing power of citizens, as a result of the high prices in the governorate controlled by the Brotherhood.
