Sana'a, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - has approved the deletion of more than 15 study units from the curriculum courses of the basic certificate (ninth grade) for the current academic year 2020-2021.

The deletions were targeted intensively for scientific subjects and the English language, including the seventh unit: (Statistics) and the sixth unit: (Coordinate and transformations) in mathematics.

While 4 complete study units were deleted in the subjects of geography and national education, it was noticeable in the history course that the fifth unit was deleted: (National movements and liberation revolutions in the Arab world), and the sixth unit: (The national movement and the Yemeni revolution) in its entirety.

The Houthi militia justified the reasons for deleting the curricula in the basic certificate curriculum (ninth grade) by what it said was "taking into account the conditions of students," and in light of what it described as (aggression), in reference to the operations of the Arab coalition to assign legitimacy.

In the curriculum for the third-year secondary school curriculum, the scientific section, the Houthi militia omitted more than 15 lessons and study units in the subjects of science, mathematics and the English language.

According to an official document - NewsYemen obtained a copy of it - the Houthi militia claimed that some of the deleted topics "were deleted as being from the last lessons, or had been studied in other branches."
