Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The media outlets of the Brotherhood in Yemen revealed that they had collected funds and donations from Yemenis abroad under the banner of "Supporting the National Army" in Marib.

During the past few days, the Muslim Brotherhood media reported that an amount of 82,000 US dollars had been collected to support members of the National Army in Marib, in the name of the "Knights Support" initiative.

According to Brotherhood media, the initiative was "launched by Yemeni students in Turkey" to support the National Army in Marib, and in less than four months it managed to collect 82,000 US dollars for the soldiers.

It is noteworthy that the news published in the Muslim Brotherhood media included an admission that one of the unknown institutions had collected donations in the name of the army for years.

This announcement comes after an organized and intense campaign of Brotherhood activists on social media over the past few days, under the banner "Supporting the National Army."

The Brotherhood campaign included an attack and explicit accusations against the Arab coalition for failing to provide the necessary support to the "national army" and for failing to confront the attack launched by the Houthi militia on Marib.

These accusations were indirectly confirmed by the official newspaper on behalf of the army, "26 September" in an editorial published last Thursday, in which it demanded to support the army forces generously with qualitative weapons.

Al-Jaish newspaper discussed in its article the seriousness of the attack launched by the Houthi group to control Marib, and considered that the army's response to this attack is a confrontation with Iran's project "on behalf of the Arab nation, which is facing dangers from all sides, especially the Iranian expansionist threat."

It added, "It is imperative for the nation to vigil and look at what is happening in Yemen with a closer and accountable view of the risks and ambitions, and indeed the political and economic gains that Iran seeks to achieve by prolonging this destructive war for Yemen and with it the unity of the nation and its capabilities, and working to resolve it through the support of the National Army." The Yemeni man has high-quality weapons and generously that guarantees him control, achievement and possession of the initiative, and he is qualified for that and capable of it. "

In a clear language of blackmail, the newspaper concluded its article by saying: "Without this (generous support), the war will be prolonged, prolonged, and the political maneuvers represented by calls for dialogue and sitting at the negotiating table will remain mere time spaces that give Iran opportunities to achieve gains at the expense of the nation and the nation only and not others."

Prior to that, the prominent Brotherhood leader, Hamid Al-Ahmar, repeated his attack against the coalition and accused him of not supporting the legitimate army, reiterating his previous call to establish an air bridge to import weapons and ammunition to Seiyun, which is under the Brotherhood’s control.

Al-Ahmar addressed the coalition, saying: Accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, bring the country back inside, spend the salaries of the National Army, and extend an air bridge to Seiyun to provide what the army needs from several equipment generously and sincerely.

The Brotherhood, through its leaders, activists and media, used to justify the stagnation of its fronts in front of the Houthis and their subsequent collapse by accusing the Arab coalition, especially Saudi Arabia, of not supporting the legitimate army.

The group continues to repeat these accusations despite the scenes that were shown of the legitimate camps that fell into the hands of the Houthis on the Al-Bayda, Nihm and Al-Jawf fronts, which showed a huge number of heavy weapons and large quantities of ammunition stores.

As these scenes confirmed the inaccuracy of the Brotherhood's accusations of not providing the coalition with adequate support, and showed the reality of the weakness of the legitimate army, which is the lack of real strength on the ground according to the payrolls that are raised, a fact that Defense Minister Muhammad Al-Maqdashi admitted in April of 2019 that 70% The strength of the legitimacy army does not exist on reality.

These facts indicate that the Brotherhood’s repetition of accusations and allegations of lack of capabilities aims in fact to trade again in the battle the Yemenis are waging against the Houthi group, by raising funds in the name of supporting the army and the fronts.

This Brotherhood trend is clearly embodied in Taiz, whose authority under its control declared in mid-March a "general mobilization" to liberate the governorate, to accelerate the use of popular support for this in requesting donations from citizens for the battles while transferring the governorate's revenues for the same purpose.

The authorities of Taiz were not satisfied with this, but also approved the deduction from the salaries of employees in the liberated directorates and the confiscation of the salaries of employees in the directorates under Houthi control under the pretext of "general mobilization" in a decision that sparked widespread political and union opposition.

The authorities of Taiz continued to seize millions of revenues and employees ’salaries despite the stoppage of the fronts in Taiz and the Houthi militia managed to regain most of the areas that were liberated last month, so that the“ general mobilization ”turned into a mere“ fund-raising campaign, ”according to a sarcastic comment by activists from the governorate.
