Aden, NewsYemen:

The Leader of the National Resistance, Head of the Political Bureau, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, held a meeting with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Jean-Marie Safa, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, via a closed electronic circuit.

The meeting discussed developments in the Yemeni arena in light of the persistence of the Houthi militia’s intransigence and its rejection of the initiatives and efforts of calm under the auspices of the United Nations, in addition to a number of political issues of common concern.

He also reviewed the continued escalation of the Houthi militia in the Marib governorate, their attacks on residential neighborhoods and displacement camps, and their dangerous repercussions on the chances of ending the war and bringing peace to Yemen.

Brigadier General Tariq Saleh said that the Houthis' insistence on continuing the escalation in Marib reflects the nature of their hostile intentions and their goals of controlling the sources of oil and their plan to reach Shabwa and control the port of Balhaf in preparation for handing it over to Iran so that it would be a safe passage for its weapons exported to them, after they withdrew from the western coast and Bab al-Mandab.

The meeting dealt with the humanitarian situation in the directorates of the West Coast, the efforts made by the National Resistance to improve public services, in cooperation with the government and the local authority, support and relief the displaced and alleviate the burdens on the citizens.

Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh praised the roles of the friendly government of France in support of the security and stability of Yemen, and the efforts made by the French ambassador to support efforts to end the war and bring peace.

In turn, the French ambassador expressed his happiness with this meeting and his welcome for the national resistance to declare its political office, and his hope that this step will contribute to unifying the Yemeni position and pushing forward the efforts for a peaceful solution to the crisis with the participation of various parties.
