Sana'a, NewsYemen:

The battles between the Houthi militia on the one hand, and the tribes and the army on the other hand, are shrouded in ambiguity, in the Marib governorate.

Battles have been raging in Marib for three months, as the Houthis try to reach the governorate center.

Marib was liberated in the summer of 2015 by the Emirati forces and the tribes, but today it is at risk of falling again.

Observers believe that the Brotherhood’s corruption in the army and the marginalization of the role of the tribes in the governorate are the main reasons for the Houthi advance there.

The Emirati academic, Abdulkhaleq Abdullah, said that the UAE liberated Marib and presented it on a gold plate to the Yemeni government forces, expressing his regret that it was about to fall again into the hands of the Houthi group.
