Mocha, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

On Monday, the Director of the Mocha Directorate, Basem Al-Zoraiqi, made an urgent humanitarian appeal to support the isolation center at Al-Mocha Hospital with oxygen, hours after a similar appeal launched by the Director of the Health Office, indicating that the health situation in the district is going through a dangerous turning point in light of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

Al-Zariqi said in a tweet on his Facebook account that was monitored by NewsYemen. We appeal to everyone who can support the isolation center in Mokha without delay, and he must coordinate with the Director of Health, the Director of Mokha Hospital, and the Director of the Isolation Center regarding the emergency and urgent materials he needs.

The appeal, which is the first of its kind for the most senior official in the district, comes as a result of the situation in the health sector in Mokha out of control in light of the increasing number of injured.

Al-Zoriki's appeal also comes hours after news of the death of a child due to lack of oxygen while being transported to Aden for treatment.

For his part, the director of Al-Mokha Hospital, Dr. Nasr Askar, said that the sick cases in the isolation center are suffering greatly due to the acute shortage of oxygen.

Askar said that obstructing the installation of the oxygen plant created a crisis for Mokha and Hodeidah in obtaining this substance from the city of Aden, as the representatives of the center remain busy in following up the cylinders in the factories of Aden and they only hardly obtain them.

He added that the distance and the delay in the arrival of the cylinders to those in need at the Al-Mokha Hospital, which is now receiving patients suspected of having the disease from several coastal directorates, made the isolation center face the problem of timely supplies of oxygen cylinders.

He explained that the isolation center has become a destination for all who suffer from Corona symptoms, calling on the Ministry of Health to focus its efforts in supporting the isolation center with the necessary needs, the first of which is what keeps the injured alive.

He acknowledged the deaths of a number of injured people, especially the elderly, as a result of the lack of this material, indicating that the available cylinders do not meet the needs of the sick cases coming from all directorates of the coast.

And he made an urgent appeal to the Ministry of Health to develop quick solutions that would alleviate the suffering of patients in light of the outbreak of the pandemic.

The Director of Mocha Health said that 60 cases were recorded as being infected with the Coronavirus with deaths due to the disease, but the announced number represents only a small number of the number of cases that refuse to go to isolation centers, especially in the rural areas of the district.
