Aden, NewsYemen:

The United States of America stressed, on Saturday, the importance of the UN Security Council unanimously to end the war in Yemen.

This came during a meeting that included the US special envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, and the US ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas Greenfield.

The US State Department stated on its Twitter page that the meeting discussed "the suffering caused by the Houthi attack on Marib, which stands in stark contrast to their supposed commitment to improving the humanitarian situation."

On Friday, the US State Department said that the permanent members of the Security Council agreed that a ceasefire is the only way to provide permanent relief to the Yemeni people.
