Aden, NewsYemen, special:

Yemeni and Saudi journalists and activists criticized Hamas for giving the movement's shield to the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, in appreciation of what it called the group's support for the Palestinian cause.

And they considered, in tweets on social media platforms, the step of honor on the part of Hamas, as being at Iranian instigation, and a provocation to the feelings of Yemenis, especially since it comes one day after the Houthi militia committed a horrific massacre in the city of Marib, which resulted in the killing of 21 civilians, including a girl.

Yemen's ambassador to UNESCO, Muhammad Jumaih, tweeted on his Twitter page, saying: "At a time when the Houthi crime of burning our children with a ballistic missile on Ma'rib was met with widespread condemnations that honor the war criminal Hamas."

Jumaih wondered: Are the children of Gaza different from the children of Ma'rib?!  Is it correct to distinguish between the victims because of the type of missile?!

He considered the publication of pictures of the meeting today by the Houthi militia as a distraction from his crime, and Hamas gave him the opportunity.

In turn, journalist Hamdan Al-Ali attacked Hamas, saying: "Hamas organization honored Layan's killers one day after they committed the crime."

He continued, "This is how Hamas returns the favor to the Yemenis by honoring the gang that caused the destruction of Yemen."

Addressing Hamas, he asked: "Do you think that the Yemeni people will stand with you after today?"

Journalist Abdullah Ismail considered Hamas's honoring of the militia as an alignment against the interests of the Yemenis and their cause.

Ismail said: "It is not a passing moment, and there is no need for attempts to justify and beautify it. Hamas rewards the killers of Layan and participates in the blood of the Yemenis who fell with Houthi missiles, mines and crimes, and declares its hostility to Yemen, the state and the people."

The Saudi writer, Suleiman Al-Aqili, said that Hamas' solidarity with the extremist Houthi group that targets the holy Islamic lands is beyond imagination.

And he added, in a tweet on his Twitter account, "Whatever political differences with the movement are, this does not justify its solidarity with Iran and its groups."

He continued: "Our government and people have not abandoned Palestine and Jerusalem, but those who claim that they want to liberate them are now allied with those who target us."

Meanwhile, Saudi Dr. Turki Al-Qublan commented on the move, saying: "Hamas is a product of global Zionism, to divide the Palestinian people, and whoever says otherwise does not understand anything about the beginnings of the establishment."

The journalist and writer Wadah Al-Jalil said that Hamas imagines that the Yemenis' support for the Palestinian people and their standing against the arrogance of Zionist practices;  It gives her the right to ignore them and deal with the Houthi group as their representative.

Al-Jalil considered Hamas' honoring of the sectarian Houthi militia as a declaration of explicit hostility to Yemen and the Yemenis.  It is not the first of its kind.
