Abyan, NewsYemen, Private:

The Abyan massacre, which killed (7) martyrs and wounded (26) soldiers and members of the Third Brigade, restored support and support;  She recalled the terrorist, explosive and assassination acts carried out by Al-Qaeda with the systematic conspiracy of the Brotherhood militias that control several areas in Abyan Governorate, in retaliation against the Southern Transitional Council.

Several areas of Abyan governorate witnessed bombings and assassinations targeting the Security Belt forces of the Southern Transitional Council.

The central region of Abyan governorate has also witnessed, in recent days, many terrorist operations targeting the directorates of "Al-Mahfad - Al-Wadaya, Mudiyah - Lauder - Ahwar - Duthina, Mamquz - and Amredah". These operations amounted to more than (18) terrorist attacks against the Security Belt forces.  The number of martyrs is more than (58), including leaders and soldiers, and more than (67) were wounded, in addition to the bombing of the headquarters, homes and points of the security belt leaders in the various regions and districts of Abyan.

All of these terrorist operations come under the control of forces affiliated with the Islah militia, the Brotherhood’s branch in Yemen, over part of Abyan and the entire neighboring governorate of Shabwa.

Three years ago, coalition forces backed by the southern armed forces managed to liberate Abyan and Shabwa from al-Qaeda members, but the recent events that resulted in the control of Islah militias allied with Yemeni legitimacy over these areas led to the return of the terrorist organization, which recently started its operations.  By targeting the security belt forces and support and backing in different areas of Abyan, specifically in what is known as the central region, in retaliation against the south and its Transitional Council, whose forces stood as an impenetrable dam months ago to prevent the Yemeni Brotherhood forces and militias from returning to the capital, Aden.

Al-Qaeda affiliates are trying to regain control of Abyan Governorate, in southern Yemen.

Last January, al-Qaeda carried out terrorist operations against the Security Belt forces, with the aim of depleting it, the most prominent of which was the assassination of the leader of the Lauder Belt, Hussein al-Alwani, with his bodyguards in an armed ambush and the wounding of others. A car bomb targeted the convoy of Amin al-Saqqaf, a leader in the belt,  terrorist operation.

In terrorist attacks, al-Qaeda targeted military sites and security patrols with explosive devices.

At the end of February, al-Qaeda elements attacked a government compound in the city of Lawdar, before tribal gunmen repelled the attack on the center.

Al-Qaeda executed a colonel in the army within the forces protecting the interim Yemeni President Hadi, and local residents found the body of Colonel Abdullah Al-Israeli dumped near a road junction leading to President Hadi’s home in the Al-Wadaya district, the hometown of President Hadi in Abyan, after Al-Qaeda kidnapped him in Lawdar.

While the tribesmen in the Lauder district in the central Abyan governorate paid the price for the security voids and the attacks of Al-Qaeda in the previous years, and more than 150 of the sons of Lauder fell in battles with Al-Qaeda.

Al-Qaeda tried to set up several checkpoints in the south of Lauder district in the Kahraba Triangle area, but it failed.  Al-Qaeda elements also tried to infiltrate the city in the dark, and the people confronted them. The tribesmen removed the Al-Qaeda barrier in the Electricity Triangle.

This is while the Brotherhood militias are trying to provide facilities for the return of terrorism to the areas of Abyan, especially in the coastal city of Shuqra, which it controls in an attempt to make the central region its headquarters through the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.

Last March, the commander of the Security Belt Forces in Abyan Governorate, Abdul Latif al-Sayed, indicated in a press statement that the Yemeni legitimacy controlled by the extremist Yemeni Islah party is being stripped day after day.  It redeployed in the central regions of Abyan Governorate after it found an incubator of some of the Brotherhood's brigades that made the central region its headquarters through the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda - terrorist acts against the Security Belt forces in the central regions of Abyan Governorate.

This statement from the commander of the Abyan Belt, who was known earlier for his fight against extremist and terrorist forces in Abyan, reveals the extent of cooperation and facilities provided by the Islah Party to al-Qaeda elements by returning to Abyan regions to settle scores with the southern armed forces that defeated terrorism and liberated large areas of Abyan and Shabwa five years ago.  The Islah forces were also prevented from returning to the capital, Aden.
