On Sunday, military sources reported the kidnapping of a brigade commander of the legitimate forces at the rank of brigadier general, in an ambush set by gunmen in the desert of Al-Jawf Governorate, days after he appeared on satellite channels, denying the Houthi militia's allegations of its control of border areas with Saudi Arabia.

It explained that the commander of the Falcons Brigade, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Qatifi, Al-Murabit, north of Saada Governorate, was subjected to an armed ambush in the Al-Yatma desert by an armed group that ended with his kidnapping.

The sources said that the gunmen took the Qatari Brigadier General in a car to an unknown location, noting that the kidnapped person was visiting his family.

The kidnapping comes days after Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Qatifi appeared on Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath channel from the Qataber area in Saada Governorate, denying the Houthi militia's allegations of carrying out a military operation and crossing from it to Jazan, southern Saudi Arabia.
