Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The visit of the leader of the National Resistance, head of the Political Bureau, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, to Russia provoked different positions and reactions from politicians and observers of public affairs in Sana'a and the neighboring provinces.

While it was noted that activists and politicians in the ranks of the Houthi militia were reticent to comment on the first visit of its kind, it was noticeable that activists in the ranks of the Brotherhood (the Muslim Brotherhood, the Yemen branch) tended to mock the visit and ridicule its outcomes.

Political activists and observers in Sanaa considered the visit of Brigadier General Tariq Saleh and his accompanying delegation to Russia at the invitation of the government of the Republic of Russia, and the talks to establish comprehensive peace in Yemen, as an expected political movement to fill what they described as the political vacuum created by the legitimate government abroad.

They pointed out at the internal level that the visit came to break the monopoly of the Houthi militia to manage the file of external negotiations individually and its exclusion of political parties and forces in Sana'a, including the parties allied with it.

Observers in Sana'a believe that Brigadier Tariq's visit to Russia comes in the context of rapid international changes in the political arena at the level of the Arab world and the Middle East, noting the visit of Saudi Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the announcement of the victory of the UAE  United Arab Emirates Security Council seat.

Fawaz al-Qubati, a political and human rights activist in Sana'a, considered Brigadier Tariq's visit to Russia a message that carries more than one meaning and meaning in light of what he described as this pivotal stage, "that the country is going through in terms of attempts to legitimize and replace the rival militias at the expense of the national state authorities," and dragged the homelands to  Dependency swamps.

While the General People’s Congress party in Sana’a did not comment on the visit, activists in the ranks of the Brotherhood rushed to try to fish in troubled waters, believing that there was what they called “resentment in the corridors of Ambassador Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh over Brigadier Tariq’s recent moves in Russia, which come after the formation of an office  independent politician.

Last Friday, the Media Center of the National Resistance announced, "The arrival of Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, leader of the National Resistance, head of the Political Bureau, to the Russian capital, Moscow, at the head of a delegation of the National Resistance at the invitation of the government of the Russian Federation."

Upon his arrival in Moscow, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh stressed that they seek peace for Yemen, "the peace of freedom, citizenship, the republic and coexistence with our people, neighbors and friends."

On the same day, the leader of the National Resistance, head of the Political Bureau, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, met with Sergey Vershinin, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in Moscow. Brigadier-General Tariq Saleh and the Russian official reviewed the developments in the political and military situation in Yemen, and developments in the light of international moves aimed at finding solutions.  appropriate to end the conflict.
