Aden, NewsYemen:

The head of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, said on Wednesday that "the council bears the cause of the people of the south and expresses their will, aspirations and right to self-determination."

This came in a speech during the opening of the work of the fourth session of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council in Aden, which will last for two days, according to the council's website.

Al-Zubaidi added, "The fourth session of the National Assembly is a pivotal station for evaluating the activity of the Assembly and its administrative body and achieving a qualitative leap in its activity and its leading role as a legislative institution for the Southern Transitional Council."

He continued, "This session comes in light of the acceleration of events at the regional and international levels, as the sponsors of the political process mobilize their efforts with the support of the international community to try to put an end to this war and find a just political settlement."

Al-Zubaidi accused the Houthi militia of "arrogance, intransigence, and standing in the way of all peace efforts and previous and recent political initiatives."

The President of the Southern Transitional Council stressed, "Supporting a comprehensive and real political process that reflects the reality of the parties on the ground, and discusses the causes and roots of the crisis, and at the forefront of this is ensuring the presence of the Council as a representative of the cause of the people of the south in all stages of the political process sponsored by the United Nations."
