Gulf Cooperation calls for international pressure to prevent weapons from reaching the Houthis

 On Wednesday, the Gulf Cooperation Council congratulated the United Arab Emirates on its election to the Security Council, and sent strong messages on the issues of Iran, Palestine and Yemen.

The final statement of the meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries at the level of foreign ministers said, "The council congratulates the UAE on its election to the Security Council."

The council also continued: "We commend the results of the first meeting of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council."

On Yemen, the council affirmed in its final statement that "the Houthi militia's continuation of hostilities represents a threat to regional and international security."

 "We call on the international community to intensify efforts to prevent weapons from reaching the Houthi militia," he said.

He stressed support for international and international efforts to reach a peaceful political solution to the crisis in Yemen, adding, "We condemn the continued attacks of the Houthi militia on the city of Marib."

He added: "We condemn the Houthi militia's continued obstruction of the arrival of a UN team to examine the Safer tank, which poses a threat to navigation in the Red Sea.“

The statement said, "The Gulf Cooperation Council's position on the Palestinian issue is consistent as it is the first Arab issue."

He added: "We condemn the continued Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, which threaten security and stability in the region."

In this context, the Gulf Cooperation Council also said in its statement, "We welcome the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and stress the importance of it being sustainable to end the violence against the Palestinian people."

On the Iranian nuclear file, the council said, "We stress the danger of separating the repercussions of the Iranian nuclear agreement and destabilizing the security and stability of the GCC countries."

 "We stress the need for Iran to adhere to the international principles and principles, the principles of good neighborliness, respect for the sovereignty of states and the non-use of violence," he added.

And he continued "We stress the need for the negotiations in Vienna to include Iran's destabilizing activity, its ballistic missile program and its support for terrorism.“

He added: "We support international efforts to ensure that Iran does not develop a nuclear weapon.“

In its statement, the Gulf Cooperation Council called on Iran to "retreat from the rate of uranium enrichment, which indicates that the program is not peaceful."

He also condemned "Iran's continued failure to fulfill its obligations to the International Atomic Energy Agency and its delay in providing the required information."

"We call on Iran to engage in negotiations seriously and not to endanger the region," he continued.

 Then the final statement moved to talk about the water rights of Egypt and Sudan, and said in this context, "We reject any measure that affects the water rights of Egypt and Sudan."

 "We reject interference in the internal affairs of any Arab country," he added.

Earlier today, the meeting of the 148th session of the Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf was launched in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to discuss several files, foremost of which are the decisions of the Al-Ula summit and the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain - Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council, and the participation of Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
