Marib, NewsYemen:

The Obeida tribes threatened the local authority in the Ma’rib governorate to take their rights in their own ways, after the ten days they gave the authorities to implement their demands expired.

And the Obaida tribes announced, in a statement issued on Monday by the protesters in the Raydan oil field, that businessmen Hussein Al-Huthaili and Abdullah Aishan and those with them were prevented from continuing what they described as “smuggling and transferring the wealth of their country,” in reference to the transfer of oil from the Raydan field in the Ma’rib governorate.

The statement gave the owners of the aforementioned oil tankers 8 days, "and they will take responsibility for themselves and their property after the deadline."

Tribal sources estimated the presence of 40 kits carrying about 300 tribal militants from Ubaidah in the Raydan area, where most of the oil production fields in Marib are located.

The issued statement held the local authority in the governorate, headed by Governor Sultan Al-Arada, responsible for the consequences of ignoring the demands of the protesters and depriving the people of the region of what it described as "their legitimate rights recognized in all oil regions around the world."

In the middle of this month, the Ubaidah tribes issued a statement calling on the local authority represented by the Sultan of Arada to give the people of the region from the bounties and wealth of their country.

It also demanded to stop depriving the sons of Ubaidah of these wealth so that strangers and owners of normal and apparent allocations from influential people who are in harmony and agree with the governorate's governor in the political and partisan orientation.

The sons of Obeida demanded not to waste these wealth on narrow partisan and political goals (in reference to the Islah Party).

Obeida's demands also included that the people of the region be represented in the oil installations and represented in the production, distribution and financial sector, giving 10 days to respond to their demands.
