Aden, NewsYemen:

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, and the US special envoy for Yemen, Timothy Linderking, stressed the importance of putting pressure on the Houthi militia to engage in the political process to resolve the Yemeni crisis.

During their meeting in Riyadh on Thursday, Al-Hajraf and Linderkeg stressed the importance of international support for the legitimate Yemeni government, enabling it to play its role to achieve stability, end Houthi manipulation of fuel revenues and prices, and enable humanitarian aid.

The two sides denounced the Houthi militia's continued targeting of Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and booby-trapped marches, according to a statement issued by the Gulf Cooperation Council.

They stressed the need for an immediate halt to the military escalation by the Houthis on various fronts, and to stop their crimes against civilians and the displaced, calling on the Houthis to respond to the Saudi ceasefire initiative, engage in the peace process and give priority to the interests of Yemen and Yemenis.
