Shabwah, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Military sources said that the Houthi militia took control of the Bayhan axis camp in Shabwah governorate, southeast of Yemen, on Thursday.

The sources confirmed to NewsYemen that the militia took over the camp without military confrontations, adding that the forces affiliated with the legitimate government withdrew before the Houthis arrived.

On Wednesday, the Houthi militia advanced in the Bayhan district and took control of many villages and regions, without facing any significant resistance, from armed groups loyal to the Brotherhood and affiliated with the government forces.

Simultaneously, the militia took control of the Al-Somaa district, in Al-Bayda (central Yemen), which was considered the last stronghold of legitimacy in the governorate.

"Newsyemen" sources said that the militia stormed the center of the directorate and took over the Security Department and the Vocational Institute.

It indicated that the commander of the Hazmiyah Front, Abd Rabbo Nasser Al-Raqabi, fled to the city of Marib, while the battles are still continuing on the front.

It stated that forces loyal to the Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, withdrew from the front, to the "Markha" district, and the resistance was limited to Salafi fighters.

According to the sources, the road linking Al-Sawma’ah district with Markha district in Shabwah, and Lawdar district in Abyan governorate, has effectively become under the control of the Houthis.
