Security in Seiyun faces protests with fire and tear gas

Security and police forces in Seiyun, Hadramout Valley Center, fired live bullets and tear gas at angry protesters who blocked the city's streets and burned damaged tires.

The protests taking place in the cities of Hadhramaut, due to the high prices of fuel and foodstuffs, and power outages for hours, without any radical solutions being put in place by the government to address the current situation.

The sounds of bullets and dushka weapons were heard throughout the city of Seiyun to disperse the demonstrators and chase them between residential neighborhoods, and some of them were flogged with rifle butts, threatening to liquidate and arrest them as subversive demonstrations threaten the security and stability of the country, according to Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan’s speech during his meeting yesterday with the security committee in the valley and the desert loyal to the Brotherhood.

The protests are expected to expand in the city of Seiyun on Saturday morning, and include a comprehensive civil disobedience, and huge piles of people will emerge demanding their basic services in peaceful demonstrations that have not been announced by any opposition movement or faction.
