The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, imposed new royalties on the residents of several areas under its control, in Al-Dhalea Governorate, in the south of the country.

Local residents told NewsYemen that Houthi leaders imposed compulsory royalties on citizens, farmers and shop owners in the northern districts of Al-Dhalea, coinciding with the militia's celebration of the anniversary of the invasion of the capital, Sanaa, and its control of state institutions in September 2014, which falls on (Tuesday).

They added that the Houthi militia is forcing the people to pay large sums of money, despite the tragic living situation it has caused, since it seized the state by force of arms, while asking families that do not pay in-kind donations to send their children to the fighting fronts.

In a related matter, local sources said that in the past few days, the militia had sent reinforcements that included armed groups and combat mechanisms, from the areas of "Shallil, Hajar and Al-Hasha", to the areas of contact with the southern forces, in the north and west of the same governorate.
