Aden, NewsYemen:

The Yemeni Prime Minister, Maeen Abdul-Malik, arrived on Tuesday in the capital, Aden, six months after leaving the city outside Yemen.

A government source said that Abdul-Malik arrived in Aden, coming from Shabwa governorate, which he had arrived earlier on Monday.

The return of the prime minister came in conjunction with an unprecedented collapse of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies, in areas of legitimacy, as well as with a wave of popular protests in many cities, to denounce the comprehensive collapse of the economy and services and the rise in prices to record levels.

On Monday, Abdul-Malik arrived in Balhaf in Shabwa governorate (southeast of Yemen), a week after the Houthi militia took control of 3 districts in the governorate without a fight.

A source in the local authority in Shabwa told NewsYemen that Abdul-Malik arrived on a plane to Balhaf, from which he flew to meet the pro-Brotherhood governor, Muhammad Saleh bin Adyo, in the city of Ataq, the capital of the governorate.

He added that the Emirati forces present within the Arab coalition forces to secure Balhaf provided the necessary security protection for the movements of the legitimate Yemeni Prime Minister during the visit.
