Aden, NewsYemen:

Muhammad Saleh bin Adyo, the governor of Shabwa who is loyal to the Islah party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, directed the suspension of studies in three directorates handed over to the Houthi militia, without a fight.

According to an official memo, the governor, Ibn Udayo, directed the director of the Education Office in the governorate to suspend studies in the districts of Usailan, Ain and Al Ulya.

And last week, the Houthi militia seized the three districts, in Bayhan, Shabwa, following the withdrawal of forces loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood, without a fight.

The Brotherhood’s governor postponed the decision to suspend studies in the schools of these directorates, to what he said were “reports he received about the Houthi militia interfering in the work of the education offices, and starting to organize events and chant the slogan of the cry in schools.”

Ibn Adyo's decision sparked widespread ridicule on social media, especially as it suspends studies in directorates handed over to the Houthis, and is practically out of his control.
