Southerners praised the great Emirati role it plays on the island of Socotra, bringing about a renaissance in service, cultural and educational projects for the population, after the corruption of the Islah party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, tampered for long periods on the island.
A member of the Southern General Assembly, Wadah bin Attia, said that those who follow the conditions of the regions in the south and Yemen will find that Socotra is living in a state of security and service stability as the best governorate.
He pointed out that it has witnessed better prosperity than before in the improvement of security, medical services, roads and water, and this comes thanks to God and then the efforts of the Transitional Council, the Emirates Red Crescent and the Sheikh Khalifa Charitable Fund.
For his part, the poet Salem Al-Bal-Omar said, "What is happening in Socotra is a model to follow, wishing that the affliction and the northern Houthi occupation, the hateful Brotherhood that perpetrates on the people, would end," according to him.
He stressed that the solidarity of honest men in Socotra is a sign of those who see the difference, a babbler, and a model that honors and raises the head.
Qassem Al-Dhalea pointed out that the south has been in a close relationship since ancient times with the sister Emirates, praying to God to preserve the sons of Zayed and the good people of Zayed, and may God have mercy on Sheikh Zayed and grant him the highest paradise.
The United Arab Emirates helps the Socotra Archipelago through several parties, including: Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation, Sultan Bin Khalifa Foundation, Emirates Red Crescent, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
These entities cover many different services, including: social, health, food, transportation, education, power generation, water, government work, and civil society.
The total value of aid provided to the island during the period (2015-2021), amounted to 110 million dollars.

The engineering and technical teams of Dixom Power Company, which is affiliated with the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works, continue to complete the work of the aerial network project for the city of Sheikh Zayed 1 Stero on Socotra Island. The project completion rate is estimated at 85% so far.
educational projects
In early September, the Socotra Center for Training and Consultation celebrated the graduation of 85 male and female students, after Emirati support in improving the quality of education on the island by supporting it in its various primary, secondary and university levels, in addition to establishing educational centers.
Agriculture support
The Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works has contributed to encouraging palm farmers in the archipelago by supporting them from the beginning of the emergence of pollination through the provision of pollination to the purchase of agricultural crops to encourage farmers to earn from their farms and to dispense with traditional methods.
Engineer Iyad Abdullah, the agricultural engineer at the Khalifa Foundation, confirmed that the Foundation is working for the fourth season to buy the production of palm farmers in many areas of Socotra and with the various types of dates known on the island to be wrapped in modern methods in the brothers’ blood factory for Socotra dates, which was established with the support of the Khalifa Foundation .
The people of the archipelago do not get tired of offering their thanks to the benevolent hands of the Emirates that helped change the reality of the island by implementing several projects that contributed to transferring the reality of Socotra to the most beautiful.
The tribes of the island of Socotra organized a foot march on the sidelines of the activities of the Fifth Sheikh Zayed Festival, to extend their thanks, appreciation and loyalty to the United Arab Emirates for all the interest it offers to the people of the island in various service, vital, living and entertainment fields.
