The Saudi Civil Defense reported, on Saturday, that a number of houses were damaged as a result of the fall of the fragments of a booby-trapped drone that was destroyed by the Arab coalition last night in the airspace of the south of the Kingdom.

The spokesman for the Civil Defense Directorate in Jizan, Colonel Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, "SPA", as saying, "On Friday, the Civil Defense received a number of reports of the fall and scattering of shrapnel on a residential neighborhood in the Uhud Al-Masharha governorate as a result of the interception of a booby-trapped drone launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the Kingdom".

He added: "As a result, a number of residential houses and shops were damaged by material damage due to the fall and scattering of shrapnel," stressing at the same time that this damage did not result in any injuries or deaths.

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Friday evening that the Saudi defenses had intercepted and destroyed a booby-trapped march launched by the Houthi militia towards Jazan.

"We are dealing with sources of threat to protect civilians and civilian objects from hostile attacks," the coalition concluded.
