Aden, NewsYemen:

A prominent Arab writer said, "There is an Iranian insistence on controlling the strategically located city of Marib (eastern Yemen), indicating that this insistence is explained by the Houthis' incursion into Shabwa Governorate in order to complete their siege of Marib and reach a stage where the defenders have no choice but to surrender." .

The Lebanese writer Khairallah Khairallah said, in an article titled “It is too late to reshape legitimacy in Yemen”: “What is interesting is not the Iranian despondency, with well-known goals, in order to lay hands on Marib, but rather the inaction of the “legitimacy” that is on Its head, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, is to take measures to prevent the fall of Marib.

He believed that "this inaction is not the result of yesterday, and Abd Rabbo is not behind it alone," adding: "In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood, which operates in Yemen under the banner of the Islah Party, is also behind this inaction."

He continued, "Had it not been for the air force of the Arab coalition, which was able to stop the Houthis' advance in the direction of Ma'rib several times, and had it not been for local tribes such as Ubaidah and Murad, the city of Ma'rib would have fallen several months ago, and with its fall, the most important part of the Iranian project in Yemen would be completed, and it is the least possible project." He described it as extremely dangerous to all the countries of the Arabian Peninsula.

He explained that "once the fall of Ma'rib, after Sana'a, the building of a Yemeni entity that is completely affiliated with Iran will be completed, similar to the entity that was established in Gaza, with a certain difference."

And he added, "This particular difference is that Iran is not alone in controlling the Islamic Emirate, according to the Taliban method, which was established by "Hamas" in Gaza since 2007. Iran has always had partners, including Turkey and other parties...until Egypt entered seriously It is on the line in the Strip and has begun to calm the situation in Gaza in order to return it to a normal situation in light of the recent war that took place with Israel last May."

Khairallah Khairallah said: "On the other hand, there is no "legitimacy that knows what it wants... It received this legitimacy, represented by Brotherhood leaders, and it received offers of assistance from several parties, including Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, who is facing the Houthis on the Hodeidah front."

He wondered: "Is it still possible to save the city of Ma'rib under Yemeni "legitimacy", to say the least that it is worn out?" And he added, "The situation of the "legitimacy" - which has forces in Hadhramaut that prefer not to use them in Marib - is hopeless."

Khairallah said that the "legitimacy" in its two branches (Abed Rabbo and the Brotherhood) is currently focused on confronting the Southern Transitional Council, which controls Aden and other areas, and for which there are objections to citizens.

He continued, "This "legitimacy" refuses to realize what is at stake in the city of Ma'rib, and that the city's fall is its final fall."

He added: "Yemeni legitimacy does not know that Iran knows what it wants in Yemen, and that the coup carried out by the Muslim Brotherhood with its civil wing headed by Sheikh Hamid Abdullah bin Hussein al-Ahmar and their military wing led by Ali Mohsen Saleh, commander of the 1st Division / Armored, was only in 2011. In the interest of the Houthis... that is, in the interest of Iran and its Yemeni project. This is a project whose features will become clearer in the event of the fall of the city of Marib, and it is a possible fall, unfortunately."

He continued, "In the Houthi areas in Yemen, there is no place for a decision other than the Iranian decision. This confirms what happened immediately after the launch of the Saudi peace initiative last March. The opinion that prevailed was the opinion of Hassan Erlo, the Iranian ambassador in Sana'a, an officer in the "guards". Revolutionary.” Erlo decided, through his tweet, that “the Saudi initiative in Yemen is a permanent war project, a continuation of the occupation and war crimes, and not an end to the war .

He continued: "So far, the Houthis have not dared to violate the Iranian decision. All that matters is that the attack on Ma'rib continues, and the attacks from inside Yemeni territory continue on Saudi territory and civilian targets through drones and missiles.

The Lebanese writer said that "there is no Houthi agenda independent of the Iranian one. Until the Houthi assassination of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on December 4th-December 2017 in Sana'a, it was Iranian timing and not Houthi timing. The Houthis, for reasons related to the desire for revenge, wanted to take revenge." Their crime was carried out immediately after their takeover of Sana’a on September 21, 2014. But Iran prevented them from doing so and left them waiting until the end of 2017.”

And Khairallah considered that “it may be too late to reform the “legitimacy” headed by Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi and Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh al-Ahmar.

This “legitimacy” did not understand from the beginning the meaning of the fall of Sanaa in 2014.

Khairallah indicated that, prior to the fall of the capital, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi went to Amran Governorate, on the outskirts of Sanaa, to speak positively to the Houthis about their takeover of the 310th Brigade camp, which was led by Brigadier General Hamid al-Qushaibi.

The Lebanese writer confirmed that Hadi "did this, despite the fact that Ali Abdullah Saleh sent four of his aides to warn him of the consequences of his refusal to confront the Houthis in Amran.
