Army units in the first military region in Wadi Hadramout managed to detonate mines left by al-Qaeda militants in the Arshan area inside Wadi Bin Ali of the Shibam district.

According to eyewitnesses and citizens, during the disposal of the mines, explosions sounded that shook the historic city of Shibam, pointing out that the mine action unit would continue until the detonation of all the mines planted inside Wadi Ben Ali, which is considered one of the strongholds of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

The second largest factory for filling domestic gas cylinders in Wadi Hadramout is located in the region.

It is noteworthy that Wadi Ben Ali is considered a safe passage for al-Qaeda elements and a stronghold for them, given the long area of the valley and its distance from vital facilities in the country.

The anti-mine units had previously detonated explosive devices and mines inside the valley, and the latest explosion killed the commander of the Saudi coalition forces, Bandar Al-Otaibi, nicknamed Abu Nawaf, during the process of dismantling mines and explosive devices in the same area.
