5 dead and more than 100 injured in Yemen's celebrations of the West Asian Championship

 Five people were killed, and about 124 others were injured, as a result of stray bullets fired by people celebrating the victory of the Yemeni junior team in the West Asian Football Championship.

 Yesterday evening, the cities of Yemen witnessed unprecedented celebrations, when the junior team was crowned in the West Asian Championship.

The celebrations witnessed gunfire, which resulted in the death of 5 people and the injury of 124 as a result of return bullets.

It is noteworthy that Yemen's junior national team won the West Asian Football Championship on Monday, after defeating its Saudi counterpart in the final on penalties, giving Yemeni sports fans an unprecedented joy by winning the first of its kind.

After winning the championship cup, expressions of joy pervaded the streets of all Yemeni cities, as millions went out celebrating this historic achievement, chanting patriotic songs and chants, firing fireworks, car horns in the streets, and ululating in homes.
