Aden, NewsYemen, special:

A circulating video of an employee at the land deposit port, who takes ten Saudi riyals from each expatriate in exchange for stamping his passport, has sparked widespread controversy on social media and re-talked about the corruption of the port years ago.

The deposit outlet has witnessed the largest corruption operations in the country for eight years, without any intervention to stop this corruption by the competent authorities, even though it has purged the voices of travelers from their corruption, which has become a snort.

After provoking the video clip of looting travelers by the port employee, activists said that the port administration had punished and dismissed him from work to get out of the pressures he was exposed to.

The diplomat in the Yemeni Foreign Ministry "Mutahhar Annan" said that paying ten riyals when stamping each passport at the port is void and every expatriate must not pay it.

Activists believe that the employee is part of an entire corrupt administration and system and is supposed to be punished and changed.

Political activist Abd Rabbo al-Awlaki said, in his tweet, about the employee who was said to have been dismissed from his job, "What is the fault of this poor man, you made him a scapegoat because of the 10 riyals with the stamp to be dismissed, according to the statement of the port manager, and everyone knows that taking those ten has been going on since 2015 and what It was accepted and collectively by all the employees and their management at the outlet.”

Al-Awlaki pointed out that "the real theft is the 300 riyals, the right to fake insurance on each car. He is a Yemeni who has benefited from it, as well as the soil, which rose from 250 riyals to 750 riyals."

Al-Awlaki expressed his full solidarity with the employee who made him a scapegoat for stealing information under their supervision and sharing their knowledge for years.

"Corruption is widespread in most of the corridors of the state, but what happened is corrupt, stealing in a brazen way, as this corrupt person does," said southern journalist Adnan Al-Ajam.

Al-Ajam added in his tweet: This man works at the deposit outlet and does not stamp a passport until after taking a bribe for each traveler. Every day, thousands of passengers travel, this bastard will not find anyone to hold him accountable, especially since a video has been published while he is scarring riyals from travelers.

And about the discussion about the employee’s dismissal, the media and southern broadcaster, Adel Al-Yafei, said, they say this employee was dismissed from the deposit outlet because he appeared in a video while he was taking 10 Saudi riyals from travelers without right!

He added, "Ok, and the manager followed him, who sat next to him in the chair for years and knew everything, and the rest of the group was Abu 20 riyals. How do you mean they are the master's children or how?"

And the deposit outlet is under the control of forces loyal to the Brotherhood and refuse to supply revenues to the Central Bank.

Journalist Ahmed Bagmal, editor-in-chief of the Hadramout Elite website, confirmed that the outlet is controlled by the Brotherhood and is not subject to the authority of the governorate in Hadhramaut.

A few months ago, the people of Tarim district in Hadramout governorate staged a major demonstration, demanding clarification about the fate of the port’s revenues.
