"Virtual" battles... The failure to extend the armistice revives the Brotherhood's "commercial" fronts

Taiz, NewsYemen, special:

As soon as the failure of the international efforts to extend the armistice in Yemen was announced, the language of war and battles returned to the forefront of the media after a six-month hiatus, by talking about the outbreak of confrontations on a number of fronts as a result of offensive attempts by Iran's arm.

What is remarkable is the intensity of news coming from the fronts controlled by the Brotherhood in Taiz and Marib on an almost daily basis, talking about confronting infiltration and attack attempts by the Houthi militia, unlike the rest of the fronts.

This seems clear from the number of news and statements on the official page of the Taiz axis on social media, talking about violent confrontations on a daily basis on different fronts in the governorate, while local sources and activists confirm the existence of clear intimidation in this news.

They explained that most of what the Axis media is talking about about violent battles and confrontations does not exist and that most of the fronts have been in a state of stagnation for years, and that what is happening does not go beyond mere skirmishes or a light exchange of fire on some fronts.

The same applies to the situation on the Ma’rib fronts, which the Brotherhood’s media allege has witnessed violent confrontations and an exchange of artillery shelling over the past few days, and that the National Army forces repelled attacks launched by the Houthi militia on the fronts of the army.

Activists from the province mock this news, recalling that the Houthi militia recently celebrated the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday by setting fires and launching fireworks from their positions in the eastern Jabal al-Balaq overlooking the city of Ma'rib, and it was monitored and photographed by the city's residents.

Noting that the army forces did not respond to this provocative move to the feelings of the people of Marib, which reflects the extent of calm experienced by the Marib fronts, wondering about the feasibility of the military parade organized by the Marib authorities on the anniversary of the September 26 revolution, while the Houthi militia is still overlooking the city of Marib.

Observers believe that the battles and confrontations that are being promoted on the Brotherhood's fronts are nothing more than a continuation of the group's approach to keeping these fronts as a source of material and political profit and gain through hit-and-run battles that it has mastered since the beginning of the war, without being resolved.

Recalling the extent of the attrition suffered by the coalition and the state budget since 2015 in the name of these fronts, and the hundreds of billions of riyals received by the group and its leaders, in addition to the volume of weapons and equipment, which were squandered with battles dominated by media intimidation without a trace on the ground, as well as most of them falling into the hands of the Houthi militia without a fight.

They stressed that the survival of this situation on the fronts of Taiz and Marib is also a cover that provides the Brotherhood in its continued looting of the revenues of the two governorates and its refusal to supply them to the Central Bank in Aden under the pretext of supporting the fronts, which makes it one of those seeking - alongside the Houthis - to prevent any attempt to end the war in Yemen peacefully or militarily decisive.
